Advice on the Matilda BP
How is this tank supposed to be played? My overall win percentage is ~50%, however my win percentage in the Matilda BP is 40%.
Every tank is supposed to be some balance of Firepower, Mobility and Protection, but the Matilda BP doesn't seem to have any of those- the gun is rapidfire but tends to bounce every shot unless the opponent decides he wants to approach me backwards. (I've actually bounced three shots in a row off a slightly-angled M3 Lee while he managed to penetrate me every time, doing over 2/3 of the BP's health in damage before artillery ****** him- I'm sure that if they had missed I would've lost that duel.) The armor seems to be about on par with the M4 Sherman, but much less sloping and a lot more shot-traps mean that if they shoot me I will take damage. And don't even get me started on it's mobility- the thing tops out at around 20kph on relatively hard ground- if I even think about moving into sand or mud or going uphill the tank immediately drops to around 10-15kph.
So what is this tank good at? Every tank has a role to play- the Ram II is fast enough to be an excellent flanker, popping up to punish enemy tanks that are focused on other team members. The Churchill III is able to shrug off almost anything with a bit of smart angling and is fully capable of leading pushes against even Tier VI opponents. The T-25 has an excellent long-range gun that is fully capable of putting holes in almost any tank it sees from far behind its allies.
The Matilda Black Prince is too slow to flank, to soft to push and too innaccurate to support. It just seems like this tank sacrifices so much armor, speed and firepower that it has to be good somewhere, but where is it good? What situations will allow it to do well?
EDIT: From what I've seen, the best compliment this tank has gotten from reviewers is that it looks interesting and has nice camo patterns.
