Unbalanced Issues In Low Teirs
There is a significant problem that I cannot help but feel the need to bring to light, since as of yet there has been no action beyond peer reprimand to shun the practice.
Namely, I'm talking about seal clubbing. Having recently gotten into, and found myself very much enjoying the game, I have been working my way up, trying to make sure each tank is fully researched and getting it's crew back to at least 100% to maximize their effectiveness with the next tank (Short of using gold, because I'm on a fixed budget).
Now I know that the idea of a game is to enjoy yourself and have fun, but in a competitive game, it's not without it's rules. From what I can tell, this game goes to great lengths to keep things as 'fair' as possible... yet from the looks of it, things seem to encourage as much unfairness as possible.
Yes, I'm talking about seal clubbers. You've seen em. You get into a match, and you spot that T18 or Leichtraktor with full camouflage paint and 6 or 8 kills, the one that seems to never miss a shot and never get spotted. Normally, I chalk this up to just foolhardy gamers who choose to pick on the little guys who are still learning their way around the game.
BUT, then you take into account the number of Premiums scattered through Tiers 2 and 3, the ones you buy rather than the gift ones received by all players, and you start to notice how difficult it is to fight these things in a researched tank even if it's a similarly skilled and kitted player. When you combine that kind of handicap with the players who have sum 24K battles, fully trained crews with all their perks, top-end equipment and spending every dime they have on premium shells, it's no wonder that so many new players opt out of playing the game entirely, and those that don't find themselves struggling for weeks to accomplish something that should only take hours. All so that one guy who can't hack it at a higher tier has to get his jollies or stat padding done against rookies.
I'm all for having fun, just not at the expense of others. I know War Gamingwants to make money off their players, but this really doesn't seem to be the way, especially when it tends to chase off a lot of their client base.
Something needs to be done about this sort of game play, either retool the premiums to be more balanced with their counterparts,or set some sort of capping system in place that either prevents players from abusing the lower tiers,or at least limits themto how many battles they can have in such tiers per day.
I'm a casual gamer, I come here to have a good time and take my mind off the stress of an already hectic world. I like to think myself quite competent, butto be fairly honest, when I find myself pitted against such odds, a good time simply is not to be had. Put me one to one with a player with similar understanding of the game, I guarantee, win or lose, I'll have fun. Put me up against someone who's tank is wildly more effective at it's core, then add in maxed crews and equipment compared to my possibly 90% crew and bare slots? That's not fun, that's some 'need to win' douche bag getting his jollies at others' expense. This is not the kind of thing we should be condoning as gamers, casual OR competitive.
