Getting better & how I'm bad at this game. I love it tho.
I'm trying to get better, I swear I am. I have tank inspector and I spend more time in that than in the game. I come to /r/worldoftanks several times a day. I love FTR and wotlabs. I have played on the test servers with the tanks I'm interested in (t57, 50B, 50 120, 50 100, t110e5, is-7, Obj 268, waffle, foch 155, lorr 50t, bat chat 25t, leopard 1, Jg Pz E100) and I did fairly well in them. I learned every weak-spot on every tank that was bothering me (the T26e4 is still a pain, I don't have many accurate guns yet).
However it's still bad. While I somewhat blame the tanks (13 75 is a cool tank, but it just does not have the acceleration, dpm, pen to compensate for my mistakes, the m4 45 is kinda mediocre overall: not fast enough, gun aims horribly but I have to stay at range), in reality it's mostly me. My win rate is 47%, and over 4k matches, that's a statistical anomaly, it can't be RNG, it has to be me.
Thing is I don't know how to improve. I know my tanks, I know how I should play them (I always do extensive research for all my T7+ tanks), I know how to go hull down, I'm decent at side scraping, I know when I have to support instead of going in. I also blame the team A LOT, but I can't change them, I can only change myself.
Here is what I know I'm doing wrong:
The beginning of every match past my 10th in a row I go into auto pilot and sometimes realize I went the wrong way by following the herd.
~I don't know how to position myself on a lot of maps in several tanks~ Positioning on the map is a big problem for me.
I don't know how to not draw attention to myself. Even if I'm full hp m4 45 and there are 3 allied IS at 20% health in front of me, the enemy will still shoot me.
I don't know how to save a loosing side / convince my team to push a winning side when they decide to camp (cuz maybe the single KV-2 on that side might **** one of them, oh noez).
I don't know how to properly support. I end up either going way to forward and die, or hang way too back and can't shot at anything except the dirt. This kinda goes back to positioning.
I would like to talk way more on this subject, but communicating ideas is a small handicap of mine. I just go on rambling making the entire post un-readable. If by some miracle I get feedback on this (even if it's bad feedback) I'll probably stop lurking and maybe start actually asking for real help.
Either way, tank you guys for helping me trough my grind, I love this game.
