How do I find some in-game buddies?
Where I live, not a lot of people play WoT, which kind of disappoints me. Quite a really nice game if you get past all the toxicity in chat and the difficulty curve. I do have a couple of other PC games where I got some buddies to talk to on VOIP, it makes the experience nicer overall to talk to someone casually and whatnot. I know these "buddies" are almost meaningless in a game where you might not really meet them, but I'd like to meet some nice people.
I don't want to join a platoon that's there for the wins. I mean, winning is good and all, and I will strive for it every game, but I don't want to seriously go for that win. I want to have some fun and enjoy getting there. There was this time though that I platooned with Beerstein, and it was great hearing advice from him on the fly, plus he has that awesome deep-vet voice (No offense).
It was easier on some of the other games I play, where voice chat is available to all who play, and you could separate the nicer people from those screaming at noobs and such, but here, not so much. I can't even tell how people are trying to say "Go to X, shoot X, back up X". I don't really want to join clans too, most require that you be online at a certain time of day, and I can't always be around since I still have college to worry about.
Does it sound ridiculous for me to want this? Where do I even start? General Chat? Training rooms? I don't want to bother unicums too, since I might just ruin their game.
