Let's have a talk about XVM's "Chance to win:" percentage.
Okay. So. I need to tell you guys this. Most of you probably know. Or know more and will correct me. But I see so much ******** in this sub about "XVM is always wrong about us winning or losing!" and I wanted to address these people. Forgive me if it's a bit of a ramble. I am typing from my bed with a chest infection.
That chance to win thing? It's a probability. It's not a prediction of the future and what must happen. It's just a guess based on the overall statistics of the players in the match. It doesn't take into account tank selection or the map. Or recent performance, from what I can tell. It doesn't know if the enemy team's unicum will ******* off a cliff in his top tier TD. And it doesn't know that the player with no stats is a super unicum reroll. It will never take into account RNG, or a player getting into the perfect spot and wrecking.
All it says is that is you put these people against one another, and they played to their exact average ability based on their overall stats, Team A will win X% of the time, and Team B will win Y% of the time.
You will still win 20% games. Your team will throw away 95% chance battles! There is always stupidity and cockiness and afkers and bots and rerolls and RNG and stock tanks. Use that number to assess how you should play in the game. If it's high, have a look at your team's composition and the map. Find a spot where you can exploit your strengths and try and take down the players that threaten your positions, not just the 'good' players. If the win chance is low, then you should again look at your team. Think about how they are likely to play. Give them advice if you feel confident. Don't let the enemy team get the advantage. Play safe and conserve HP. Carry if you have to.
What I am saying is, always play to your full potential. Don't relax because XVM told you it was an easy win! Don't throw a strop because your team is full of noobs. This will not help you become a better player!
You should do these things always, but this is just to tell you to not take that probability to heart. It crunches numbers with no thought for way more influential factors than just player skill. Use your own head and take what you have been given to make your own conclusions.
You want that win chance thing to be a little more accurate? Play a shitload of Karl matches. :3
