9.0 First Impression: Performance
My specs:
#1: Recommended Settings
So I tried the 9.0 Update on the EU server. I first ran using WoT's built in recommended setting maker thingy whatever.

And here were the settings:
Graphics Settings
My Observations:
The garage was indeed noticablyslower than in 8.11, but that was true throughout the test servers for me, so it was no surprise. In game the FPS was around30-40.The graphics compared to 8.11 are a lot prettier, especially the shading and water. The maps loaded just as fast as 8.11, took like ~10 seconds(so whoever complained about slow map loading either has a fragmentation issue or has another problem that isn't related to WoT). Note that I don't use a SSD, so this is based on traditional HDD spindisk hard drive.
#2: Custom Settings
Now I wanted to see how it would run with a custom setup (similar to how I currently run it in 8.11).Since i'm a texturewho-ore, I set all the texture settings to maximum and turned off lighting and shadows.

My Observations:
It definitely ran faster and smoother, with FPS in the range of 40-50, with the average around 45. It definitely isn't as pretty as the first test, but it ran pretty smooth. This will probablly be my final setting when 9.0 comes to NA. Same map loading speed, etc. Garage was also in comparable speed with 8.11, so that was also good.
#3: Maximum Settings
Finally, I decided to try it out on all max settings. Going all out, every box checked, Crysis 3 mode.

My Observations:
It ran smoother than I thought. The FPS was steady at around 20-30, with the average at 25FPS. The water was preeetttyyyyy. The garage was noticeably sluggish, and I dont think I saw motion blur working in-game (motion blurdefinitely worked in the garage though.. odd). However, I did notice a significant performance hit when zooming in on certain occasions, which I will detail at the very end of this post*. It isn't related to 9.0, just so you know.
Conclusion:
9.0 IS FINE (for me). STOP COMPLAINING AND WORRYING!
*I noticed something that exists for all graphical settings in 9.0, and I believe this issue has been existing for as long as WoT has been alive. When you zoom in all the way in sniper mode, specifically to a location that is far away from you (hence why you're zooming in usually), the FPS does down noticeably, depending on what is in the field of view. The FPS goes down more when there are leaves and water in the field of view compared to just land and buildings. Note, if you zoom in all the way at something that's right next to you (say a building), the FPS actually increases alot, because lol you're zooming in on a small area, so less rendering power is needed. But when you zoom in on a large area, especially with foliage and/or water, you're going to see a decrease. This is probably unavoidable due to the nature of the game engine, and has been a topic of issue for long before in-game physics even came out. But just a note.
Also, I didn't own any tanks that were 'HD' so the effects of 'HD' tanks on performance wasn't able to be seen.
