A little guidance on the new spectator mode in the 9.2 Test.
So I took a look at the new spectator mode. I thought since the controls are not published anywhere I might as well tell what I know already.
Of course this is all for the new spectator option in training rooms. Just click the little button that says spectator in the training room controls and your tank is changed to an observer. You will need to be on a team to spectate the battle but with the new version it won't matter much what team you're on aside from influencing spawn positions.
Controls:
capslock + F3 - go into freecam mode - This can only be done after the countdown timer has finished. Do it again to go back into locked camera mode.
P - Inertia - This smooths out the camera and makes everything you do pretty. Press P again to toggle off.
X - Locks your camera above the ground and prevents you from going below the ground by default. Press X again to toggle off.
C- Locks onto an object in space. You'll rotate around the point. Press C again to toggle off.
Q/E - Go up/down
WASD - Camera movement.
Mouse - Of course used for moving the camera
Scrollwheel - Goes up and down, not as clean as Q/E but doing both at the same time allows you do rise more quickly than set speed.
1-0 - Speed of camera movement in free-cam mode. 5 keeps pace with most tanks. If you want to sit still don't press 1 or 2 and just kind of float. This generally improves the shot.
shift + 1-0 - Speed of up or down movement. I like shift+5 as it's the happy medium but default setting is usually fine.
Ins - Zoom in
Del - Zoom out
Those are the controls I know. There are a few problems I know of that many of you may notice.
When switching fro free-cam to a tank some trash will show up on the screen. This is normal. You can ctrl+click to tanks you started the battle on but not to enemies. You can however click through to enemy tanks. The observer tank does not get an after battle report. No reviewing the last battle's stats. You will have to select the observer tank after each battle. So if you plan on observing be aware so you don't accidentally join in a tank. Two observers cannot join a battle without tanks present. This is actually a nice feature as it restricts battles accidentally starting and then after countdown going back to garage.
I'm wondering if anyone discovered any other controls. I didn't see any first person camera or the ability to toggle being able to see one team or the other.
