112 Review from a Chinese tank player
So last night I at long last was able to purchase my 112 and have more than a few games in it. I know everyone posted their thoughts on the tank based on how it played in the test server which is kind of unfair considering everyone is slinging gold and whatnot.
Anyways here are my thoughts:
Last night I played 30 games in the tank, sometime platooning, and other times not, so that I could get a feel for the tank. What I learned was that this thing can be an absolute monster when it is top tier. The first game I played in it was on Pearl River. I was actually the only tier 8 on my team and there was only one on their team. I spawn bridge side and decide to see what this thing could do and pushed across the bridge by myself to try and hold it (I know this was dumb, just trying to get a feel for the tank). What resulted was a mass of enemy tanks, probably between 7-10 pushed through on that flank. I was able to just sit there and take a ton of damage as almost everything was bouncing off. In the meantime, getting 400+ damage hits on them made it worthwhile to sit there. Eventually, the enemies found out I was all alone and pushed around me where the mobility of the tank really hurts it. I was ****** but not before taking almost 6k potential and doing 2.5k damage.
After that game it was kind of a mixed bag on where I stand on the tank. i got into a few tier 9 games and in some I was able to do well and others I wasn't able to do more than 450 damage. The mobility isn't very good and the traverse and aim time can be a little slow for my liking. The reload isn't too bad and mine is about 11 secs without brothers in arms.
I think the positives outweigh the negatives though. The front of the tank is able to withstand a ton of punishment and as long as you can keep the lower front plate at least a little covered, then you can bounce shots from tier 8's and some tier 9's all day. I have on several occasions gone 1v1 with an IS-6 and have won almost every time because I don't have that glaring frontal weak spot on the UFP. Going 1v1 with this tank usually ends up in you getting the ****. It usually takes more than 1 or 2 tanks to take you down because they most times have to flank you.
Now while I have a three skill crew in the tank, I saw someone with a 75% crew do just fine it it. although I would of course recommend that you have a 100% crew. I also run my tank with a vert stab, rammer and vents over a gld.
I really think this tank can give the IS-6 a run for it's money as the top tier 8 premium. It does cost a little more and can only be purchased form the gift shop, but for me it was worth it. And I am honestly surprised I have seen more 34-3's than the 112 so far, but that is most likely because it can be used for training a more useful crew.
