I've been playing for a long time now, I've seen how the game evolved into what it is today. I've experienced the meta games from the german style "war of attrition", to the russian style of "rushing one flank", to the american style "wait and shift", to the now "DPS style game".
And I have to say one thing, this game is sick, and needs some help. If WG can admit that they made some bad changes, this game can survive from the 1-2 year terminal lifespan I see it heading too.
I'm a great player and I wish to get my mind out as I love the game and have invested a lot into it. Many of you will disagree, many of you will agree, however I want to touch on a few topics.
Power Creep -
Ah yes, power creep, made popular by MMO games.
Power creep is defined as "the gradual unbalancing of a game due to successive releases of new content."
As new tanks are released, old tanks are forgotten. The mighty machine guns of power have been given to newer content while others still have rocks.
I believe that the start of power creep came with the release of the US T110E5, with it came an incredibly powerful tank which can do many of the other roles incredibly well. Firepower, DPM, Armor, Accuracy, this thing has it.
Following its release, the game has slowly been shifting to tanks that do more damage, that are more accurate, have more armor, and MORE PEN!!!!!! and we, the players, are expected to grind the new loot else the "guilds" will not take us on raids.
Premium ammunition and dynamic gameplay -
Since premium ammunition for credits, I've been thinking my tanks are made of molten metal. The constant "sizzling" of HEAT rounds annoys me. What is the point of having a set of dynamic tanks when armor and angling are MUCH less effective than before. Some tanks are just not supposed to pen others. Why is it that we provide an option to bypass a main aspect of the game? I'm being sizzled even in my armor-less vehicles such as my french line just because everyone is shooting it. Even teir 10s are shooting them at my measly 8s.
This game would become much more dynamic without premium rounds. I say completely remove them from the game. The game now favors high alpha and high dpm (EDIT: I mean DPS) team builds. CW is filled with autoloaders and high damage per shot team comps(which is another topic that I should touch on but won't, p.s. I think that autoloaders did more to the games balance than anything released by WG)
WG and Map Making
WG has left in COMPLETELY broken maps in the pool. Draw rates are going into the ROOF on maps like Redshire, and Erlenburg. The stupid design of El Halluf. Obvious problems on Mountain Pass with North being able to deny an entire half of the map from South. Ruinburg... Nuff said. And these new maps just keep flowing in incredibly bad maps. I have an idea, whats so wrong about having a symmetrical map for once? Holy ****, did he just say "symmetrical?" That word is never said in game development anymore and sometimes it is sad.
WG is thinking short-term instead of long-term in their business strategy -
WG wants your money
I'm sorry to be so frank, but you must look at how they have been updating their game. WG KNEW what they were doing when they released premium ammo for credits. Allow the players to pen things they shouldn't, brings in the baddies AND pros to buy it all up and use it liberally. This eats into your credits thus, players will be more pressured into buying premium accounts = more money for WG. It also eats into your progress to your next tank by eating into credits = more money for WG.
However, this is shortsighted as they want your money, however it is killing gameplay.
I've invested a lot in this game, and I'm losing interest in it, games are less fun, less dynamic, more "grindy", and overall just poo. Someone, bring my hopes up.
The Release of OP Perks -
Sixth Sense, Remove it. Takes away dynamic gameplay and game sense. Enough said.
