WOT Economics 101: Getting the most out of your credits. (For Newer Players)
I'm posting this because I wish I had read something like this before I got to the mid-tiers. I would have wasted a lot less credits. I think most new players will discover this fairly quickly, however, some might not figure it out for a while and I want to save themas manycreditsas possible.
For most players, they will see their first money crunches around Tiers 4-5. I was comfortably buying and selling items with no regard simply because I didn't give it much thought and I didn't know the exact mechanics yet of the in-game marketplace.
Probably sometime around Tiers 2-3 I discovered that I could sell my obsolete tank modules, a little later I discovered the "Depot" tab where I found loads of unused modules from all the tanks that I upgraded. Jackpot! Sell sell sell sell sell... etc.
Don't do this!!! Don't do what I did! Take a good look at the tank lines that you're interested in and are planning to go down, take note of the modules these tanks need for upgrades. Most of the time, tanks down certain lines and even adjacent lines use many of the same modules.
If you just sold your Fug IV radio, and the next tank you're planning to get uses the same radio in it's second tier, you'll just have to buy it again -at the list price. Remember, when you sell the item back, you always sell it at a discount. You just lost a nice chunk of credits, like I did for a bunch of tanks.
Some modules like turrets and tracks are usually unique to that tank and you should be safe selling them, but not always! There are a few tanks that share some of these modules, so do your homework first. Check the tank lines, and if these modules are unique, go ahead and sell them.
When you sell a tank, all the modules it's equipped with gets sold with it. It's good practice to re-mount your stock hardware to the tank before you sell it, that way when you buy the next tank in the line, you should havesome upgrades to put on so that it's not completely stock when you take it out for the first time.
Modules are pretty cheap in the low tiers, but by the time you hit the mids, these prices really increase quite a bit. I hold on to almost all my modules now until I'm convinced I won't need them later. I hope these tips help!
