It seems there is a significant in-game delay involving enemy guns swinging around to aim/shoot at you
I just experienced this phenomenon for the umpteenth time tonight. I own a BDR G1b, so I am painfully aware of its slow aim time and its inaccuracy when firing without any aiming, especially at targets over 150-200m away. Keep that in mind when I point out the issue here. We are in a losing battle at Pearl river, both in T49's, and we see 3 enemy tanks coming up the trail in front of us. One is a BDR. I get a track hit on him and a hit on a Wolverine, when I decide to shoot the BDR again. I move out from behind the rock to see his turret facing at least 30 degrees away from me, so I shoot and hit the S button to retreat back behind the rock, as I watch him. I am down to around 215hp's at that time. Right as I start moving back, I can see his gun is still moving around, but its just about on me, when I am suddenly dead at that very moment.....
I figure it coudnt be the BDR who shot me, because his turret wasnt even fully on me, and he was at least 200m away, and he hadnt ANY time to aim yet. When I try and shoot my BDR main gun from 200m without ANY aiming, it flies right into the ground or way up in the air! It certainly cant be relied upon to hit a tiny TD who is only showing part of his tank as he is moving backwards.
But it was the BDR who ****** me. To be honest, I am not very surprised, because I see this happen at least once every 5-10 games, where I get shot and hit/****** by a very inaccurate tank from long distance, who hasnt aimed at all, and who's gun isnt even fully pointed at me yet when I move back behind cover! I had this happen by a KV-2 recently in my T49 at El Halluf, when I saw him behind a mountain, and I fired and moved back around the hill because his gun was 45 degrees away from me, but as I hit him he starts moving it around. I watch him as I back away, and within maybe 2 seconds I am dead, and according to what I watched, his gun didnt even appear to be fully pointed at me yet, and he certainly didnt have enough time to aim at all, and I was moving backwards diagonally from his perspective, and I was 150-200m away........
So, apparently I cannot depend on what I see in the game when it comes to the turret and guns swinging around. There must be a delay. But there doesnt appear to be any delay when it comes to the actual tank bodies, because I shoot them in real time and hit them in real time. So I dont understand this phenomenon.
