Spotting/damage due to assistance
So I just wrapped up a terrible match where I only got about 500 spotting damage in my Leopard and was comparing my spotting damage to the enemy scouts to see if I should copy their movements/locations in the future when I noticed something about the experience values they received.
Please note that all of the following Damage due to Assistance is from spotting enemy tanks that allies shot at.
Damage due to Assitance
AMX 12t
Chaffee
T37
What I'm not getting is that in the case of the AMX 12t and Chaffee despite the AMX 12t having over 200 more spotting damage than the Chaffee it only receives 9 additional experience. And than looking at the T37 it does only 85 spotting damage but with 112 of its own damage which is enough to put it in about the middle of the two.
Questions
Whilst I understand that these are very low team assistance for scouting (tanks started brawling, couldn't continue to get spotting damage after having to pull back) I find the gaps between experience earned and spotting damage dealt to be rather odd. Is 200+ spotting damage really only worth another 9 points of XP or so, and how does 197 combined damage between spotting and personal damage equate to being nearly equal to 500+ spotting damage?
Is there some sort of equation I can look over on how experience earned from spotting damage is handed out?
This is really killing my mood to learn to play light tanks/scout as I normally hit anywhere from 500-600 spotting damage, passive or active scouting. Teammates just aren't competent enough to hit targets I light/keep lit even if they're clearly in line of fire for me to hit the occasional 1k+. I already knew that most of my experience was coming from my own personal damage but this feels startling to me on just how little the spotting damage I've done may be worth.
Any inputs and information would be much appreciated.
